A large floating Rot Mushroom. Created for use in The Putrid Heart. The rot and the fungus that grew in it were initially lethal to all species of Nichtun. Thanks to the cunning work of some very old mages who were the only ones to realize it wasn't the fungus by itself that would kill. It was actually the rotting disease festering in the fungus, from the deep depths of the Veil. A disease connected to something powerfully strong and as old as the birth of Nichtun.

An old being far beneath the cracks of the planet's crust longed for its release. Lurking and biding its time in the darkness where no light ever shown. Leaching into the world through whispers and our fears. Growing ever stronger in the minds of many as its black inky tendrils spread rot and disease through anything it could touch or consume.

Sidenote--Once a floating spore is cleansed of the dark rot from the Veil they are actually quite docile friendly beings.
