the S.S Seabird was a 2 meter long passenger cardboard ship model built by a group of people living by lake Auriga, in the city of Portus. The ship had one funnel, it was about 1 meter tall (including the funnel) and had a passenger capacity of 400 lego minifigures, it's weight is unknown.
the ship was built between the years of 2019 and 2020, and it was launched in september 21th, 2020 during a small ceremony. It was made out of very strong Cardboard and had a few wooden parts, it was not the most luxurious ship in the lake, but it was comfortable and reliable, finishing it's maiden voyage from Cardbordington bay to New Cardbordia in around 2 hours.
The ship's reputation grew as it began to make cruise trips around the western part of the lake, and consequently more luxurious furniture and areas were implemented, making the vessel's trips almost always fully booked.
But, the ship's reputaion was not enough to save it from what happened 3 weeks after its maiden voyage. It was a cold windy day, and the ship was cruising close to the shore, with around 397 passengers onboard, when the wind direction suddenly changed and began to move the ship closer and closer to the sand, until it eventually got stuck. Eventually, the wind changed directions again, and began to push the beached ship back to the water, which would sink it due to the damage caused by the colision with the beach.
After 41 long minutes, the ship would be pushed back into the water and began to sink, the storm was almost completely gone, which meant that the water was not violent anymore, an this made it possible for a few lifeboats to be sent out of the ship before it completely sank. 203 lego minifigures were lost in the disaster, and the rest managed to escape in the lifeboats.
