YAFUBAR. the word "zygostatical" means "pertaining to a market official in charge of weights " and I have just now used Google [the parent org behind GDD!] to check and it said it is not a recognized English word which is in agreement with what GDD returned. HOWEVER, at the Phrontisery site under lost words, it IS a word. Since I don't have access to a humongo dictionary I must leave this discrepant finding smoking in the dust.
