Bellerophon (also known as Bellerophontes) was a Greek mythological figure, the son of Glaucus and Eurymede, the grandson of Sisyphus, and the king of Lycia.
Bellerophontes, riding on the back of Pegasus, won victories everywhere. When he returned home, on the orders of Iobates, the Lycian palace guards ambushed him and tried to kill him, but he defeated and killed them all.
