Contra Costa County Bikes for Tykes - (San Francisco East Bay Area in Northern California, USA)
For over 20 years, Contra Costa County Firefighters have been running a program called Bikes for Tykes. The Bikes for Tykes program began with an engine company crew in Martinez that would rebuild bikes for some of the less fortunate neighborhood kids and giving them away at Christmas. Over the years, the program has grown to giving out nearly 500 new bikes a year to various organizations, schools, local children, and Children’s Hospital of Oakland.

The spirit of the season helping those who may be less fortunate and bringing a bit of happiness. Thank you first responders!
