Sarah Daly is an Australian abstract and figurative artist, doing her PhD in Trust and AI, particularly on creative machines. Here, the Deep Dream algorithm helps us see inside the 'mind' of the AI - it is interpreting my paintings. I am showing it two pieces of my own art - an abstract piece that captures the vastness of the waters surrounding Stradbroke Island/ Minjerribah, including the tea-tree lakes on the interior of the island. It is a place where time seems to stop. The nets are a reference to our connectedness. I am also showing it a figurative drawing of a human woman. The AI has created a beautiful piece, filled with textural detail and layers of colour.
