Prompt

**Chapter 23 – The Archive of Places That Never Were Part 1 – The Road That Forgot Where It Was Going** Create a highly detailed cinematic fantasy storybook illustration, **4:3 landscape**, realistic painterly style, rich natural textures, atmospheric depth and soft volumetric golden light. Use the supplied reference images for **CR-M1 – Morksik**, **CR-M16 – Grimmeldorn**, and **CR-M17 – Eldren**. Their appearance, proportions, clothing and distinctive features must closely match their references. **Grimmeldorn must match CR-M16 and must not be redesigned as an owl.** Show **ONLY THREE travellers: Morksik, Grimmeldorn and Eldren. Do not add Borstel, Hopsy, Dravarius, Archivara, dragons, hedgehogs, kangaroos or any additional travelling companions.** The three travellers stand just inside two gigantic ancient wooden doors, discovering the impossible **Archive of Places That Never Were**. Morksik stands slightly forward, cautiously looking into the archive. Beside him is the smaller Grimmeldorn, his red eyes glowing and the moss upon his head faintly illuminated. Eldren stands behind them in his long grey travelling coat, visibly astonished by what he sees. Beyond them rises an archive of breathtaking scale. Towering dark wooden shelves disappear upward into warm golden haze. **The shelves contain no ordinary books.** Instead they hold illuminated glass display boxes containing entire forgotten places: a miniature village with tiny glowing windows, a winding river through green countryside, an ancient stone bridge, a deep forest, distant mountains and a fragment of bright blue sky with clouds. Make these displays look like real miniature worlds preserved inside magical glass cases, not paintings or framed pictures. Dominating the middle distance is the mysterious **Archivist**, much taller than the travellers: an unnaturally slender humanoid figure wearing a long robe constructed from hundreds of overlapping aged paper labels. Instead of a human head, it has a **plain rectangular wooden sign**, completely blank, with no eyes, mouth or facial features. One long hand is raised toward Eldren. Emphasize the enormous scale of the archive compared with the three travellers. Ancient wood, brass fittings, floating dust, warm golden illumination and distant shelves fading into luminous haze. Cold silver mist remains near the giant entrance behind them. Mood: magical, mysterious, awe-inspiring and subtly unsettling, **not horror**. **Exactly three travellers plus the Archivist. No other creatures or characters anywhere in the image.** No modern objects, no readable shelf labels, no captions, no side text. **Watermark:** bottom-right, small white full-body unicorn silhouette followed by **“AI by Unicorngraphics”**.

Chapter 23 – The Archive of Places That Never Were Part 1 – The Road That Forgot Where It Was Going
The road ahead turned black. Not dark blue, not hidden beneath mist, but black like a word erased from a page. Behind Morksik, Eldren pressed both hands against his face. White paper had begun creeping across his temples again. "It's faster," he whispered. Grimmeldorn turned. His red eyes burned beneath the station lamps. "Say your name." "Eldren." The paper stopped. "Again." "Eldren." Hopsy stepped closer. "Eldren. You are Eldren. You carry a terrible map and you frightened me considerably." Eldren blinked. "Was the last part necessary?" "Very." Borstel touched his arm. "Eldren." Archivara repeated the name. Dravarius adjusted his spectacles. "Eldren. And your map remains cartographically offensive." The paper retreated slightly. Grimmeldorn looked toward the black road. "Something heard us." The wooden sign above the platform creaked. THE ARCHIVE OF PLACES THAT NEVER WERE remained for a moment, then NEVER WERE vanished. New words appeared. THE ARCHIVE OF PLACES THAT SHOULD NOT BE REMEMBERED. Archivara stared upward. "That is not an improvement." The station bell rang. The black stones began moving, disappearing behind them and reappearing farther ahead, as if the road were pulling itself through the mist. Morksik stepped onto it. Cold passed through his boots. For one moment he forgot why he had moved. "Morksik?" Borstel called. The memory returned. "Stay close. If anything disappears from your mind, speak." Hopsy climbed onto the road. "How do we know when we've forgotten something?" Nobody answered. "Excellent." They walked. Eldren stayed between Grimmeldorn and Archivara, and every few steps someone spoke his name. Soon the station vanished behind them. There were no trees, hills or stars, only black stones and occasional golden lamps. Beneath one lamp lay a broken wooden sign. Hopsy picked it up. "Welcome to—" The rest had been scraped away. Beneath the missing name someone had written: PLEASE REMEMBER WE WERE HERE. Morksik touched the wood. For a heartbeat he saw red roofs beneath giant willow trees, seven bridges crossing a silver river and children carrying lanterns shaped like fish. Then the vision vanished. "I saw a town." Grimmeldorn nodded. "A remainder." "What was it called?" Morksik asked. Grimmeldorn's moss stirred. "You already forgot." Morksik stared at the sign. He had. Hopsy immediately pushed it into his enormous leather pouch. "Then I'm keeping it." Archivara looked at him. "You cannot collect forgotten towns." "Why not? I collect everything else." Farther along the road stood stranger remnants: a gate without a fence, a dry fountain, three doors without houses and a stone cat facing the darkness.
