Gestation: Short gestation ~33 days; embryonic diapause and long pouch development (~6–8 months) before permanent emergence.
Diet: Herbivore - grasses, shrubs, occasional forbs.
Role in nature: Key grazer in arid ecosystems; their grazing patterns shape plant communities.
Range /countries: Australia - arid and semi-arid interior.
Size / height: Male standing height ~1.4–2.0 m when upright.
Weight: Males up to ~85 kg (large rangers heavier); females smaller.
