In Judah's life, a chapter told
Of choices made, both brave and bold
A tale of passion, deceit, and lust
Of family ties, and betrayal's thrust
Judah's sons, a wicked pair
Their evil ways, beyond compare
Er and Onan, their sins so grave
Their lives cut short, to an early grave
Tamar, daughter-in-law in grief
Denied her rights, denied relief
A widow left, with naught to gain
Her hope for justice, filled with pain
But Tamar, wise and resolute
Her plan conceived, her heart acute
She dressed in veils, a disguise so deep
To Judah's tent, she made a leap
Mistaken for a harlot fair
Judah approached, without a care
He sought her favors, for a price
Not knowing Tamar's true device
She asked for pledges, as her fee
A sign of payment, for what would be
Judah agreed, and left his mark
Unknowing, in the growing dark
Time passed by, and Tamar showed
With child conceived, her belly glowed
Judah learned of her condition
His rage so hot, a grave suspicion
But Tamar, bold, she showed her proof
The pledges shown, the painful truth
Judah realized, his fault laid bare
He had betrayed, with his own snare
Tamar's wisdom, her cunning way
Her righteousness, in the light of day
Judah learned, his heart now changed
He honored Tamar, a life rearranged
In Genesis 38, a story told
Of choices made, both young and old
Of deceit, repentance, and grace
A lesson learned, in life's embrace.
