In a tank of glass, beneath the sea,
Lives a mermaid, graceful and free.
Her tail of shimmering scales, so bright,
Glistens in the aquamarine light.
With flowing hair, like seaweed green,
She's a mesmerizing sight to be seen.
Her voice like a siren's song, so sweet,
Drawing sailors near with every beat.
Her eyes, a hue of emerald green,
Hold secrets of the ocean, unseen.
She longs for the waves, the salty spray,
To swim in freedom, night and day.
But trapped in a tank, she cannot roam,
Her heart aches for the open foam.
Her fins once agile, now confined,
Her spirit yearns to be unconfined.
Her beauty draws crowds, far and wide,
Admired by many, her fame worldwide.
But deep down, she longs to break free,
To return to the ocean, her true decree.
Her eyes filled with sadness, her heart with pain,
As she gazes beyond, the glassy pane.
Dreaming of waves, and endless blue,
A life of captivity, she must undo.
Her yearning heart beats with a song,
Of freedom, love, where she belongs.
She dreams of a world, wild and vast,
Where she can swim, forever to last.
The mermaid in the tank, a tale of plight,
Yearning for the ocean's boundless light.
A symbol of freedom, a heart so pure,
Hoping one day, her dreams will endure.
