I know she carries them with her still—
Her mother’s voice, her grandmother’s prayers,
Though they live now in fragments,
In echoes that only the heart can translate.
And I too carry these fragments,
The weight of her forgetting pressed into my own remembering.
I shall not let the stories drift like evening mist on the lake;
I shall weave them anew, a tapestry of what was and what remains.
