Lorenz, a 21-year-old Afro-German, was shot four times in the back by a police officer on April 19 in Oldenburg, Germany. He did nothing that would have justified him being shot. He simply behaved as stupid as average young men sometimes do. If he had been white, he would surely still be alive. This is just one of the many “isolated cases” in which young Africans have been murdered by security forces or police officers. They are victims of a structural racism that supposedly does not exist.
