Watercolor and Ink masterpiece, heavily washed effect, swirls and twirls of lines and color around the edges, faded edges, an attractive fit petite young auburn haired Scottish American woman, narrow facial features, striking faintly green hazel eyes, long slightly curly hair down her back, sitting on the edge of a bed, she is crying, tears streaking down her face, but not from agony and pain, from a happy revelation that she is where she needed to be and she can stop running away from everything now, she is melting into the hug, she is wearing a cute black nightgown, behind her a beautiful young petite Japanese woman is laying her head against the woman's upper back and has her arms wrapped around her, most details faded away, colors and surroundings are dimmer and rich like an emotional dream, dreamy, delicate blending, ethereal, emotional depth, watercolor medium, contrasting shadows, soft textures, evocative atmosphere. Painting by an artist named “Kiera” signed in the bottom right in small, swooping cursive black letters.
Inspired by conversations I was scared to have—about a wedding, about our future, about actually allowing myself to believe in something lasting. They made me face a fear I’ve carried for most of my life: that good things leave… And somewhere in that moment, I felt a lifelong fear finally lose its hold on me.
The Place I Stopped Running
I learned too young that things could leave,
That even love might not remain;
And on the rez, old stories breathed
Of all the world had come to claim.
Though I would cross beyond its bounds,
One warning travelled silently:
"Love what you may, but guard your heart—
The world takes back what comforts thee."
And so, I loved, but always heard
Some distant closing of a door;
I held each happiness with care,
Expecting it would be no more.
Not once did I desire to go—
I only feared that you might too;
For every heart I'd trusted once
Had taught me what goodbye could do.
Then one soft evening, in your arms,
That ancient fear grew strangely still;
No leaving footsteps filled my mind,
No shadow waited at the sill.
I heard your breathing next to mine,
Your steady heartbeat holding me—
And something weary in my heart
At last believed what it could see.
And there, beneath the evening glow,
A truth came softly over me:
Home was not where the world stayed out,
But where my heart was safe to be.
No promises that no loss could come—
Yet something in me ceased to fear;
I closed my eyes within your arms
And knew that I belonged right here.
