"Das Nichts ist aber nur, bestimmt genommen, das Nichts dessen, woraus es resultiert."
(Bestimmte Negation, two sentences combined, from Phänomenologie des Geistes, 1807).
So: "Nothing, understood as determinate, is the nothing of that from which it results."
Well, Hegel may not be the most hilarious (or even just user-friendly) philosopher, but this sentence speaks to me in the sense of the title of my image: "You can only Miss... What has Existed !". Human life is finite and everything in it lasts for a finite time. Be glad for what you had, even if you lost it.
Sadness is not necessarily evidence that something went wrong. But it is always evidence that something happened.
