John Travolta's character in Pulp Fiction, Vincent Vega, may not have been the most heroic of film protagonists but, he was certainly an iconic one nonetheless. Edmlovestyle's artwork, in the style of Rango, captures the unique character that Mr. Vega embodied.
The vivid colors in this artwork immediately draw the viewer in, particularly the bright yellow and orange, as they make Vincent Vega stand out as the star of the painting. The cartoonish nature of the piece also plays into this; Vega's face illuminated with a devilish grin as if he's ready to confront his newest challenge. His eyes challenge the viewer, looking out boldly with a sense of fearlessness.
As is evident from the image, the style that Edmlovestyle has chosen to create the painting represents a total distortion of reality. His choice to incorporate Rango-style elements gives Vega a surreal and almost caricature-like quality that plays perfectly into his character. While he was often cool and composed on the exterior, Vega hid an inner turmoil born from years of bad decisions.
In a sense, this artwork does an excellent job of portraying John Travolta's character from Pulp Fiction in a way that encapsulates his internal struggle. By utilizing the flamboyance inherent in Rango's visual style, Edmlovestyle has managed to do justice to one of the most memorable characters to ever grace the silver screen.
