Chapter 17 – Part 1 – The Penguin Waiting in the Mist CR-M1 – Morksik CR-M2 Borstel CR-M4 – Hopsy CR-M12 – Percival P. Waddlesworth Create a cinematic realistic painterly fantasy storybook illustration, 4:3 landscape format. Use the uploaded character reference images strictly. Morksik, Borstel, Hopsy and Percival MUST preserve their established appearance, species, clothing, facial features and correct relative body proportions. Borstel MUST clearly be the established hedgehog. Hopsy MUST clearly be the established kangaroo with his enormous naturally attached leather pouch. Do not make Morksik noticeably smaller than the other established characters. Scene: an enormous mysterious railway station suspended in dark blue and silver mist. Hundreds of old wooden signposts fill the platform like a strange forest, pointing in impossible directions. Warm golden station lamps glow through the mist. No train is visible. Morksik, Borstel, Hopsy and Percival stand together on the wooden platform, staring in astonishment toward a SECOND Percival emerging from the mist between the signposts. The second Percival must look unmistakably identical to Percival: same penguin species, elegant clothes, polished shoes, bow tie and top hat. The important difference: the second Percival has a small white feather tucked into the ribbon of his top hat. The second Percival walks calmly toward the group carrying a closed umbrella beneath one flipper. Around his neck hangs a small brass token on a thin chain. The atmosphere should feel mysterious and impossible rather than frightening: deep blue mist, warm golden lamps, endless signposts fading into the distance, subtle magical light and strong cinematic depth. No duplicate versions of Morksik, Borstel or Hopsy. Exactly TWO Percivals only. Small white full-body unicorn watermark with the text “AI by Unicorngraphics” in the bottom-right corner. No other decorative text.

Chapter 17 – The Station Between Two Journeys Part 1 – The Penguin Waiting in the Mist
For several long heartbeats no one moved. The carriage door remained open, and beyond it the enormous station waited beneath a roof that seemed to disappear into the dark blue mist. Hundreds of signposts stood upon the platform like a silent forest, their wooden arms pointing toward places that could not possibly lie in those directions. One arrow pointed straight upward and read YESTERDAY. Another leaned toward the tracks and announced THE ROAD BENEATH THE RIVER. A third pointed directly at a brick wall. Percival ignored all of them. He stood beside the open door with both top hats clutched against his chest and stared into the mist. Somewhere beyond the signs, his own voice had called his name. "Percival?" it came again. "You are exceptionally late." Borstel moved closer to Morksik. "I dislike this station." Hopsy peered over his enormous leather pouch. "More than the train?" "Considerably more." Percival slowly placed one top hat upon his head. "For the record," he said, "I have never before accused myself of being late." "Perhaps the other you is more punctual," Hopsy suggested. Percival looked offended. "Then he is clearly an impostor." Morksik stepped onto the platform. The wooden boards beneath his feet gave a quiet golden pulse, almost like the living bridge above the World Tree, but colder and much weaker. Borstel followed immediately. Hopsy squeezed through the doorway behind him, his enormous pouch brushing both sides of the frame. Percival remained inside for another moment. The brass token marked RETURN lay in his flipper. At last he closed his fingers around it and stepped down. The train door shut behind him. Almost immediately the carriage windows darkened. "Wait," Borstel said. The locomotive gave a soft whistle. Without anyone aboard that they could see, the train began moving again. Within seconds it had vanished into the blue mist, and even the golden rails faded behind it. Percival watched them disappear. "That seems unnecessarily final." Morksik turned toward the central sign. Their four names still glowed upon the wood. MORKSIK. BORSTEL. HOPSY. PERCIVAL. Beneath them remained the warning: THREE MUST CONTINUE. ONE MUST RETURN. But as they watched, a third line slowly appeared. THE RETURNING PASSENGER IS ALREADY HERE. Hopsy frowned. "That's helpful." "No," Borstel said. "That's worse." A faint tapping sounded among the signposts. Tap. Tap. Tap. Like polished shoes crossing wooden boards. Percival's feathers lifted slightly around his neck. "Those are my shoes." From the mist emerged a dark shape. First came the top hat. Then a black-and-white figure carrying a closed umbrella beneath one flipper. The stranger walked slowly between the signs until the golden station lamps illuminated him. Nobody spoke. He was Percival. Not someone who resembled Percival. Not another penguin wearing similar clothes.
