The Rooster Who Loved the Clock at the Poitou Farm
by ©emma cha
Time stands still for him
The rooster dreams against brass
The hens whisper low
At the Poitou Farm, a magnificent rooster has fallen hopelessly in love with the village clock. Eyes closed in bliss, he embraces its support while scandalized hens exchange gossip nearby. A dog, a cat, a fox and a gazelle silently witness this lyrical and absurd rural romance.
Artistic Statement: Inspired by Claude Nougaro's The Rooster and the Clock, this work transforms a whimsical chanson into a monumental visual fable. Matisse contributes decorative abundance, Rousseau lends dignity and mystery to the animals, Picasso provides graphic clarity, while Gaudí infuses the architecture with dreamlike vitality.
Influences: Henri Matisse, Le Douanier Rousseau, Pablo Picasso, Antoni Gaudi, Claude Nougaro
