Ode to Moon and Cat Beneath the moon's soft, silver light,There sits a cat, with eyes so bright;A sentinel of night's sweet hush,In silent vigil, dreams to crush. Oh, Moon! Thy beams do gently fallUpon the cat, serene and small; Her fur aglow with lunar grace,A shadow cast, a mystic place. Thou art the queen of night's domain,Thy light does weave a silken chain; The cat, thy subject, purrs her song,A melody to which we long. In rhythmic dance, the shadows play,As cat and moon hold court in sway; Her whiskers catch the night's cool breeze,A scene of tranquil, timeless ease. The stars above, they watch and wink,As cat does prowl, does sit, does blink;A fellowship of silent night,With moon above, all pure and bright. And when the dawn begins to creep,And day from night's embrace does leap,The cat will curl, her task now done,'Neath moon's last light, the night's sweet son.
