To Bethel, he must go with all
His household, and his kin at hand
To worship God, in a promised land
They purged their idols, their hearts made clean
Renewed their covenant, with faith serene
God blessed Jacob, with a new name
Israel, now his honored claim
At Bethel, God appeared once more
To Jacob, with promises to restore
The land, the people, the legacy
God's faithfulness, a constant decree
Jacob built an altar, a testament
To God's grace, so evident
A place of worship, a hallowed ground
Where God's blessings would abound
Genesis 35, a tale of renewal
Of faith restored, a sacred jewel
A story of covenant, steadfast and true
God's promises fulfilled, anew.
