2024 was the year we reached 1.5C above pre-industrial global temperatures. This isn't a 5 year average, but it is the first data point in the famous tipping-point threshold. A threshold which, once crossed, causes large and irreversible changes to the climate system. This first data point is 25 years ahead of original predictions. We are already feeling the danger signs across the globe.
Here in the US, consumerism and making money rule the day, and the current batch of people deciding things have chosen magical thinking, delusion, and/or nihilism. They are intent on taking us backward as fast as they can.
The following is a warning to pay attention to our priorities in ecological stewardship (from 53 years ago!)
