A little history of this cabaret.
"The Black Cat" (French: Le Chat Noir), "Sha Noir" is a now—defunct famous Parisian cabaret in Montmartre. It was opened on November 18, 1881. After the death of the founder (1897), it existed for a couple more years, then it was sold and changed its name.
All the Bohemians of those times gathered in the "Black Cat". Regular visitors were Paul Verlaine, Claude Debussy, Eric Satie, Jules Laforgue, Alphonse Allais, Charles Cros, Leon Blois, Jean Moreas, Maurice Rollina, Aristide Bruan, Albert Samin, Jean Lorrain, Paul Signac, Jeanne Avril, Yvette Gilbert and others.
