The original sculpture is an early stage Oaxacan Alebrije: carved and smoothed and ready for the intricate brightly colored patterns that will be painted on it. Personally I fell in love with it unpainted. No matter how I tried, the AI didn't recognize the facial expression of the original, so I went for something altogether different.

Alebrijes are whimsical carvings depicting animals, people, objects, and imaginary creatures painted with intense colors and intricate patterns.
