Chapter 19 – The Librarian Who Came to Collect Yesterday – Part 3 – The First Thing Forgotten Create a 4:3 realistic painterly fantasy storybook illustration. Use the uploaded references strictly: Morksik (CR-M1), Borstel (CR-M2), Dravarius (CR-M14), and Archivara Quillwick (CR-M15). Preserve their exact established appearance, species, clothing, colors and proportions. Morksik must match CR-M1 exactly, Borstel must clearly remain the small hedgehog, Dravarius the enormous wingless scholarly dragon, and Archivara the small mechanical librarian with her oversized brown pointed hat, brass mechanisms, scrolls, keys and ink bottles. Maintain correct established scale: Dravarius is enormous compared with everyone else; Morksik is much smaller than Dravarius but larger than Borstel and Archivara. Do not enlarge the small characters. The group stands on a narrow magical blue stone road beneath an impossible upside-down forest. Huge trees grow downward from a pale misty sky, their roots disappearing into clouds above while branches hang toward the road. Leaves drift upward instead of falling. In the far distance, a silver river flows impossibly across the sky. Directly ahead stands THE FIRST THING FORGOTTEN: a tall, extremely thin unsettling humanoid figure formed from folded blank white paper. It has long white arms and NO normal face. Its head is a smooth blank page with only dark handwritten marks beginning to form across it. It must look mysterious and eerie, not monstrous or skeletal. The creature reaches one long hand toward Morksik. Morksik stands nearest to it, tense but courageous. Archivara urgently protects a parchment containing handwritten records while throwing vivid RED magical ink toward the white creature. The red ink splashes across its chest and cannot be erased. Borstel stands nearby holding the open faded-blue road-book THE ROAD NOT TAKEN, which glows with blue light. Dravarius towers protectively behind the group, alarmed and ready to defend them. Where the red ink touches the paper creature, fragments of written words and symbols appear, visually showing that writing prevents it from erasing memories. Far beyond the creature, barely visible through the opening upside-down forest, show a gigantic solitary bookshelf beneath the river in the sky. Its shelves are empty except for ONE tiny faded-blue book, creating an ominous destination without dominating the scene. Strong contrast between cold blue road-light, pale white paper, vivid red ink and mysterious silver sky. Magical mist, cinematic depth, soft volumetric light, realistic painterly fantasy storybook style, dramatic but whimsical rather than horror. Exactly four established characters plus the single paper creature. No Hopsy, no Percival, no duplicate characters, no wings on Dravarius, no extra people, no modern objects, no speech bubbles, no side text. Small white full-body unicorn watermark with “AI by Unicorngraphics” in the bottom-right corner.

The black square continued to grow. It spread across the map until the blue lines around it disappeared beneath the darkness. A deep bell sounded from the road. The stones shifted, and the first section of the blue road began disappearing behind them. Dravarius seized his travelling bag. "The road is closing." "Then we stay here," Archivara said. The road-book wrote quickly. IF THE WITNESS REMAINS, THE EMPTY SHELF WILL COME TO THE WITNESS. Archivara read the sentence twice. "That is extremely poor library etiquette." Morksik stepped onto the blue stones. "Then we move." Borstel followed with the book beneath one arm. Hopsy tightened his enormous pouch and hurried after them. Percival opened his umbrella despite there being no rain. Dravarius looked back at Archivara. "You may remain here, of course." Behind her, one bookshelf flickered and vanished. When it returned, every book upon it had blank spines. Archivara grabbed her packs. "I am coming solely in my professional capacity." "Naturally." "This does not make me part of your expedition." "Of course not." "And you still owe twelve years in late fees on an illustrated history of revolutionary printing." Dravarius stopped. "I returned that." "You returned Volume Two." "There was a Volume One?" Archivara marched past him. "Keep walking." Behind them the library disappeared into blue mist. Ahead, the road climbed toward the impossible forest shown on the map. Its trees hung downward from a pale sky, their roots disappearing into clouds while their branches almost touched the stones. Hopsy stared upward. "Should trees do that?" "No," Dravarius said. "Good. I wanted to be certain." Leaves drifted upward around them. Percival caught one on his umbrella. It immediately became blank white paper. He dropped it. "Unpromising." Archivara removed a scroll and began writing. "What are you doing?" Morksik asked. "Recording us. If we are approaching the Empty Shelf, memory cannot be trusted." She carefully wrote six names: MORKSIK. BORSTEL. HOPSY. PERCIVAL P. WADDLESWORTH. DRAVARIUS. ARCHIVARA QUILLWICK. Dravarius studied them. "Assuming the parchment remembers." Archivara frowned. "I preferred you when you were merely overdue." A scratching sound came from among the hanging trees. Something pale moved between the branches. Morksik raised one hand. Everyone stopped. A tall, impossibly thin figure stepped onto the road. Its body looked as though it had been folded from white paper. Where its face should have been was a smooth blank page. Hopsy whispered, "I don't like it." A black line appeared across the creature's face. Letters formed beneath it. WHO ARE YOU? Archivara lowered her pencil. "Do not answer." Percival glanced at her. "Why?" "Names are catalogue entries.
