I began with drone shot of Colorado a few years ago during the wildfires when the sky took on a brownish hue for weeks. I reimagined the picture as an image of hell at sunrise. Instead of a blue sky, I thought of the thick, yellow atmosphere on Venus: a furnace of crushing pressure and acidic clouds. On the ground are the indistinct figures of the damned, scrambling about in panic.
