Pastel Painting, vibrant colors, view from behind, a petite woman stands in a tall open art museum gallery almost entirely empty of patrons, elegantly but simply dressed, parquet floor, an empty bench, afternoon light entering the space from somewhere, she is absorbed in a large painting on the wall, standing transfixed and has forgotten all other things besides the painting, brochure in her hand, as the painting reaches towards the edges selective distant detail fades from utilizing pastels to simply charcoal, enhancing the vibrancy of the colors. wonder. Contemplation. Attention. Beauty. Stillness.
A pastel painting of a woman from behind, with her dark curly hair up in a bun, wearing a cream colored blouse with puffed sleeves, a long flowy, pleated pink tulle skirt, and grey flat shoes, holding a small white pamphlet in her left hand and a dark purse on her right shoulder, standing in a museum, looking at a beautiful large painting of a lush, sun-drenched garden with colorful flowers and a closed gate at the end of a path. The painting is set in a large ornate gold frame. The museum has a wooden parquet floor, light gray walls with a dado rail, a black bench with carved legs on the right, and the entire scene is bathed in a warm glow of light that shines across the floor from an unseen window.
