A male elk stands on a grassy patch, facing left with its head slightly turned towards the viewer. The elk has a light brown body with a slightly darker brown head and neck, and a prominent white rump. Its antlers are short and branch-like. The background features a dense forest with a prominent, dark brown tree trunk on the right side of the elk. Lush green foliage, including bushes and pine-like trees, fills the frame behind and around the elk. Parts of the foliage show hints of reddish-brown leaves or branches. A faint, light-colored vertical object, possibly a pole or utility structure, is visible on the far right, partially obscured by the trees. The lighting suggests an overcast or shaded environment.
Yeah, I know. It's not a cat. Sorry, but a woodland mood was upon me. This is from a picture I took in April of 2007, of one of the Roosevelt Elk standing in a yard by Highway 101, not far from Crescent City. The original picture, alas, had a timestamp. I had Gemini Chat remove the timestamp, and it did an excellent job.
