ArtistCreate a spacious living room interior that seamlessly fuses modern architecture with the natural beauty of the Arizona desert. Architectural elements: floors, walls, doors, windows and ceilings are made of beautiful stone, wood, glass and manmade materials that complement the natural terrain elements. On the left side of the living room are large wide windows from floor to ceiling that showcase magnificent Arizona vistas and a double door entryway of carved wood and vertical glass panels. The back wall is a fusion of a natural stone outcrop featuring a large modern fireplace. A small stream emerges from the outcrop to meander through the main living room space and fuse seamlessly with a modern Zen style water element and reflecting pool. The central living space is focused in a recessed, low terraced circular design element for relaxing and social gatherings. To the right is a glass sunroom that is seamlessly designed to complement a natural rock alcove and shelf and features a home entertainment center. The entire living room area is decorated with modern furniture, art and accessories and features native flowering desert plants, shrubs, and cactus.
Among the modern Hopi and most other Puebloan peoples such as the Mogollon & Hohokam, "kiva" means a large room that is circular and underground, used for spiritual ceremonies and a place of worship. Similar subterranean rooms are found among ruins in the Southwestern United States, such as those in areas around Mesa Verde, Colorado. These rooms are believed by archeologists, to have had a variety of functions, including domestic residence along with social and ceremonial purposes. This modern equivalent is currently occupied by the Institute for the Study of Astral Projection near "Garden of The Gods" Colorado Springs, Colorado.
