A dark, atmospheric oil painting of a cyty over a tree at night, styled with soft brushstrokes and a visible canvas texture. The thick paint furrows form the texture of the roots, all shrouded in an oppressive, heavy grey fog and a smoky, dreamlike haze. High contrast chiaroscuro, muted lighting, avoiding any hard edges or digital sharpness. No people. In the melancholic style of Zdzisław Beksiński and the dark palette of H.R. Giger.
A wide-angle, highly detailed digital painting depicts an immense, ancient tree with sprawling, gnarled roots forming the base, while its dense, flat-topped canopy supports a sprawling, multi-tiered stone city built into its branches, under a gloomy, overcast sky with atmospheric fog swirling around the dark landscape.
