The chaise lounge is decorated with what appears to be a crown and an ornate gold and blue broach. The man, positioned to the left, is seen holding the woman affectionately, his right arm around her waist. He is dressed in a dark blue jacket with a gold embellishment at the collar, a black cravat, and a white undershirt. His hair is neatly styled, and he appears to be wearing a small earring on his right ear. He gazes intently at the woman, his lips slightly parted as if whispering.

The woman is adorned in a flowing, light gold gown with intricate gold embellishments on the sleeves and bodice. Her hair, styled in long, wavy curls, is parted to the side and decorated with a gold headpiece. She wears an earring on her visible ear. She is draped in a blue cloak that extends beneath her and cascades over the side of the chaise lounge. Her legs are gracefully crossed, and her feet are covered by blue boots with gold embellishments.

Note: I have about thirteen of these. Most of them have too many arms or legs while some of them have additional figures. If you work from one of those images you just get a proliferation of the irrelevant items, in this case more children with some assortment of limbs. The original painting commemorates a famous incident in which Ivan the Terrible loses his temper and savagely beats his son.
