Spartacus, a gladiator and military leader, is believed to have been born around 111–109 BC in Thrace, a region in Southeast Europe. His exact origin and early life details remain elusive, but he became a prominent figure in ancient Roman history.
Spartacus is best known for leading a slave uprising against the Roman Republic known as the Third Servile War (73–71 BC). Although the rebellion was eventually crushed, Spartacus's defiance left an enduring mark on history.
