I enjoy good rephotography and try occasionally to take snaps of famous and not-so-famous photographs from the original vantage point with the same field of view. It's often used to contrast the difference that time has made on the original environment.
Image Prompt Adapters (aka visual prompt on DDG), on the other hand, capture the essential visual elements of an image and transfers them to a newly generated image. Seeded from the May 22, 1936 Berenice Abbott photo (public domain courtesy of New York Public Library), we get the feeling of getting your kitchen cookware from a street vendor with a horse drawn cart, especially if Downtown Brooklyn was your 'hood in the 1930s. I've tried without success to pinpoint this exact Brooklyn street although it has a Flatbush feel. A man in vintage attire stands by a horse-drawn cart filled with metal milk containers on a cobbled street, evoking a bygone era.
