János Hunyadi (1407-1456) is one of the heroic figures of Hungarian history who performed great deeds, bringing true glory to his homeland and truly enhancing the reputation of the Hungarians in Europe. His name was made known in Europe by his fight against the Turkish invaders. His greatest victory was the victory of Nándorfehérvár in 1456. Unfortunately, he died here, in Nándorfehérvár (today: Belgrade), after the battle he died of the plague.
