This portrait was painted two months before Lady Jaen graduated from the Advanced Course at the Women's College at _______. Most of her cohort were in their mid-twenties.
Lady Jaen* is a character in my fictional milieu, the Harperverse. She is married to the polymath Tho-Nyan, Lord Josen and she is a noted scholar in her own right, having taught in the Faculty of Letters at her alma mater. She has fought for recognition for women in academia and continues to do so.
Her full maiden name is Jaen-Eteshra, Lady Kreech ; upon her marriage, she will take the surname Josen-Kreech).
