On a gloomy winter afternoon, a weathered old gnome is sat on a tree trunk fishing in small pond with lily pads. an unkempt garden with tall, swaying weeds. The wind blows so hard that he has to hold his pointed hat with one hand. The wind carries dandelion fluff through the air. His face radiates great sorrow. Amidst this scene, a surreal mixture of flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies flows through his liquid, almost ethereal body, painted in a detailed digital style with a palette of green and yellow pastel colors. As he stands there, his form seems to gracefully melt, his body slowly transitioning into a modern digital photo, as if he is one with the surroundings. Stylized drops of somber-colored watercolor rain down, with the sad colors draining the energy from the scene. The entire depiction is rendered in a blend of styles inspired by artists such as Evelka von Arkelm, Lienarq Broacchieri, and Christoff Theirnfield.
