When Franz Kafka was living in Berlin with Dora Diamant, he is said to have met a little girl who had lost her doll. Kafka comforted the little girl Irma by saying that the doll was not lost but travelling and would write letters to Irma. It is very likely that Kafka had written doll letters to himself, as Dora Diamant reported. Perhaps these doll letters are still lying undiscovered in a German archive!
