More about Today is 1984

When I awoke I found myself in a dream like world in a time that was written a long time ago a story of a dystopian world were cautionary warning splashed across a dull landscape of whites, grays and black tones with eerie chillingly sounds and the rotting decaying scent had surrounded me. How did this happen, is it real or is this a nightmare inside a nightmare where I can’t wake up? Was it an Orwellian1984 or was it a Brave New World? dPwOrKs2 group

Wherever else the terror had happened, we, at least, had not been visited by Orwellian nightmares. Contrary to common belief even among the educated, Huxley and Orwell did not prophesy the same thing. Orwell warns that we will be overcome by an externally imposed oppression. But in Huxley's vision, no Big Brother is required to deprive people of their autonomy, maturity and history. As he saw it, people will come to love their oppression, to adore the technologies that undo their capacities to think…by Neil Postman
