Thinking of Yayoi Kusama (3) (see description)

More about Thinking of Yayoi Kusama (3) (see description)

Four weeks ago, on August 14th 2026, the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama died, aged 97. I came across her work quite late, only last year, but I find it really fascinating. So I'm going to experiment a bit creating a couple of tribute dreams.

Five young women in shiny black crop tops and mini skirts, with yellow thigh-high stockings featuring black polka dots, are posing in a brightly colored grocery store aisle. The aisle walls and floor are green with red and yellow polka dots. Various fresh vegetables and fruits are displayed on shelves in the background and foreground. There are also several orange pumpkins placed around the women. The women have different hair colors and styles: one has long blonde hair in a ponytail and holds a red bell pepper; another has dark brown hair in a ponytail and is sitting on a large pumpkin; a third has short blonde hair and is holding a red apple; a fourth has red hair pulled up and is sitting on the floor with her hand on her chin; and a fifth has dark brown hair in a ponytail and is kneeling on the floor. All the women are looking towards the viewer with neutral or slight smiles.
