Magnus Chase is Annabeth Chase's cousin and a son of the Freys. He lived on the streets for 2 years after his mother was killed by two wolves Loki had sent her. At the instigation of his uncle Randolph, he finally tried to claim his inheritance, the mythical Sword of Summer, and was killed by the fire giant Surt. The Valkyrie Samira al Abas then brought him to the Valhalla Hotel where he began a new life as a heroic Einherjer.

Magnus Chase ist der Cousin von Annabeth Chase und ein Sohn des Freys. Er hat 2 Jahre auf der Straße gelebt nachdem seine Mutter von zwei Wölfen getötet worden ist, die Loki ihr geschickt hatte. Auf betreiben seines Onkel Randolph versuchte er schließlich sein Erbe, das mythische Schwert des Sommers für sich zu beanspruchen und wurde dabei von dem Feuerriesen Surt getötet. Die Walküre Samira al Abas brachte ihn dann in das Hotel Walhalla wo er ein neues Leben als heldenhafter Einherjer begann.
