Z9X-98 is the lone robot manning Wayfarer 9, a submarine roaming the sea of the distant planet, Balke. Z9X-98's sole responsibility is to keep the submarine operational by performing maintenance and repairs. Despite his GPU not being rated high enough to have "emotions", which would only hinder a repair-bot's effectiveness, he often finds himself experiencing a sense of what could only be described as loneliness in the vast, lifeless ocean. The routine of his maintenance duties has become monotonous, and he sometimes wonders if there is more to life than his current existence.
