Pancho rode fast as lightning steel,
Lefty sang blues with a heart to heal,
One met his match down in Mexico,
The other fled with cash in tow.
The Federales could have caught their prey,
But let them slip and go their way,
Pancho's dying words were unheard,
Lefty carried on, still disturbed.
Now they're just legends of the past,
Their story told, but never to last,
Pancho and Lefty, a duo forlorn,
Their tale, a memory to be reborn.
