More about A Tale of Doubt - Numbers Chapter 14 Poem

The Israelites, with hearts dismayed,
In Numbers Chapter 14, a choice was made.
Despite God's promise, they feared and doubted,
Their faith was weak, and they loudly shouted.
"We cannot conquer, the giants are strong,
Their cities fortified, their weapons long.
Let us turn back, to Egypt's land,
Forget the promise, and its hopeful hand."
But Joshua and Caleb, stood with might,
"We can prevail, in God's holy sight.
The land is good, and flowing with milk and honey,
With God on our side, we'll conquer, it's not funny."
But the people rebelled, in fear they stayed,
Their faith was tested, and it sadly frayed.
God's anger burned, at their lack of trust,
Their disobedience, turned hope to dust.
