A quiet, emotional piece of surreal art. Impasto texture achieved through the use of a poured/drip technique. A solitary beautiful woman, long amber curly hair and grey silk dress, bare foot she is holding a long blue flower, she is seated at the edge of a small blue-grey-rusty red weathered boat ( in the middle of the image). The boat looks old—peeling wood, worn edges—and beneath it, instead of water, everything seems to be *melting* downward, the paint is dripping, forming a dripping paint curtain. The background is mostly pale, muted turquoise/grey, making the blue, grey and rusty red stand out strongly. It looks like the grey dress is melting into paint, and that paint is pouring over the edge like a curtain. In the paint curtain is a wildflower field with a depth effect, which blends with the dripping paint curtain. The person’s body blends into the same cracked, eroding texture, as if they’re becoming part of the boat or dissolving with it. It feels less like despair and more like a calm, heavy acceptance. The kind of stillness that comes after a long, hard struggle day.C.DeR style.
