Hello! I return to DDG charged with many positive emotions ... and song #2 for the May Challenge - "POEMS & MUSIC".

My painting is inspired by the song Sukiyaki (Ue o Muite Aruko) by Kyu Sakamoto. The lyrics tell the story of a man who looks up at the sky and whistles to himself as he walks to stop his tears from falling. The lyrics of the song describe his emotions and feelings.

This song also has historical value - it is a symbol of Japan's return to prominence after its defeat in World War II. The song was first heard in 1964 at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
