The word "Christ" in Greek is a play on words, on the word "Xristos" means "the annointing" or the "divine annointing" which is not a person but a state of being. One becomes a Christ or "annointed master" after attaining enlightenment through the process of theosis, similarly, Xristos refers to the external annointing of reality by God from moment to moment and second to second. It's a shame that the Catholic and Protestant Churches have hidden the truth of Christ from their American and European followers so that only the chosen few amongst the ranks of nobles and clergy could attain enlightenment.
