Backstory

The entity now known as The Big Dripper has been known by many names in many times and places dating back to antiquity.

Sightings always correspond with a group of homicide victims with identical causes of death : vines jammed into the throat and gullet and funneling groundwater into the lungs and stomach.

Typically, a second group of homicides will be attributed to the Dripper, and with good reason, as they nearly always consist of strangulation with vegetable matter in the wounds.

However, the two groups of victims are quite different. The first are very bad people who come inside the Dripper's domain. The second group includes different kinds of people who run afoul of the Dripper.
