A cinematic scene unfolds in a moonlit alley, where a young woman with a glowing backpack walks toward dawn. A stray cat guides her, while broken walls shimmer with graffiti. The city skyline sparkles, embodying resilience and hope.
Her Poem - “The Moon Follows Her Steps”
Barefoot on broken light,
she carries the night on her back,
a rolled-up dream, a crust of hope.
The moon bends low,
whispering over tangled wires,
“Keep walking, little soul.”
Beside her, a cat’s soft shadow
threads through silence,
guarding the scraps of her tomorrow.
In alleys where names fade,
only the sound of breathing remains,
two wanderers sharing one heartbeat.
Her Story - “The Girl and the Cat Who Carried the Moon”
In the narrow alleys of forgotten light, a young girl named Em Mai walked every night with a stray cat she called Bóng.
No one remembered where she came from, some said the storm brought her, others whispered she was born from the moonlight that spilled across the roofs.
Her backpack held everything she owned: a rolled mat, a cracked cup, and a drawing of a house that no longer existed.
But she carried something else, too, a quiet dignity that poverty could not take away.
Each night, she shared her food with Bóng, who followed faithfully, tail flicking like a metronome marking their steps through hunger and hope.
When she was afraid, the cat purred, and the sound felt like her mother’s voice humming lullabies she almost remembered.
Sometimes, Em Mai would stop and look up at the full moon.
She imagined it was a lantern hung by kind hands, lighting the way for children who have no home but their courage.
People passed them by, some looked away, some offered coins.
But Em Mai didn’t beg. She just smiled faintly and said,
“I’m walking home. I’ll get there when the moon does.”
And perhaps, in a way, she already had.
