Artist
The Gilded Ruin
They painted her in oil and in grace,
But time has laid its hand upon her face.
The canvas cracks, the colors start to peel,
Revealing what the varnish couldn't heal.
A splash of red for sorrow, deep and bright,
A flake of gold to catch the fading light.
She is a ruin, lovely and undone,
A masterpiece unraveling in the sun.
Her blue eyes watch the centuries go past,
Knowing that beauty was not meant to last,
But in the fragments, scattered on the floor,
She is more real than she was before.
