For me, the word Crud has a multitude of meaning. This originated in a book I read, where the protagonist did not know any curse words and therefore used crud as a substitute. This idea of not knowing has grown in my mind into the idea, that something that cannot be said, because there exists no word for it in your universe, is represented by crud. That is the main meaning I associate with the word Crud. Something that cannot be said, because there is no word for it in any known language, the concept might have even never before been thought about in your universe.
