As though new life hath come to earth.
The trees doth sway, the flowers bloom,
And all the world doth cast a gloom
Upon the doubts and fears of men,
And bring them hope and peace again.
But in the midst of all this cheer,
A lonely heart doth shed a tear,
For love hath fled and left behind
A heart that aches, a soul unkind.
Yet still the world doth spin and turn,
And still the fires of passion burn,
For though love may be fleeting, true,
Its memory shall forever renew.
Thus, let us cherish every day,
And let our hearts find love and play,
For in this world of joy and strife,
'Tis love that brings the truest life.
