Hello fellow Dreamers. A glimpse into a dream, accompanied by a deep dive into its symbolism and a brief composition (https://youtu.be/PgHxFllkPUI). Though my posts may be less frequent, I hope to share in this format—visual, narrative (story/commentary) and music—with every image when I post to DDG. I hope some will resonate with you. Warmly, Spider And I.
The heart in this image, hollow and decayed on the outside, represents a person’s emotional world—a heart that was once open and accessible but has since become closed off, guarded, and unreachable. The external figure, standing on the cliff, symbolizes someone who once had access to this heart but neglected it for too long. The cracks and decay of the heart suggest that the person standing inside their own heart has endured pain and emotional neglect over time, leading them to withdraw and protect themselves.
The physical distance between the two figures reflects the emotional divide that has grown between them. The figure on the cliff, realizing too late how much they love and need the person inside, is now confronted with a divide too great to bridge. The path leading into the heart, once open and welcoming, now seems insurmountable. The figure inside has built an emotional fortress—layered, complex, and guarded—which the former lover can no longer penetrate.
As the figure inside the heart slowly turns away, it symbolizes their decision to move on. They have accepted that their once-exposed and cracked heart can no longer remain open to someone who failed to cherish it when given the chance. This turning away marks a moment of emotional closure—a painful, yet necessary, step toward healing and making space for new connections.
The figure left standing across the gulf embodies deep regret. They now see how much light, love, and warmth the person inside once offered. But it’s too late—the heart is closing, and the light is fading. They are left standing outside, fully aware that the opportunity to reconnect is gone forever.
The faint glow that still flickers inside the heart symbolizes the love the internal figure continues to hold within themselves. However, that love is no longer available to the person left behind. They can tragically see the light but are powerless to reach it. The heart has become a closed, protected space, and the person moving on has chosen to offer their light and love to someone new.
The decayed exterior of the heart represents the emotional walls the internal figure has built over time—walls formed from years of neglect, unspoken hurt, and disappointment. The former lover, now on the outside, is forced to confront the reality of those walls—the heart still holds brightness and love for the future, but they will no longer be part of that journey.
